A foundation in biology.
Two bachelor’s degrees from NC State: Biology and Plant Biology, with a minor in Genetics.
THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORK
I’m a scientist, communicator, and certified clinical research professional who keeps asking what comes next.
My path has taken me from watching cells cross blood-vessel walls to asking how clinical research can better serve people.

BEYOND A SINGLE DISCIPLINE
I earned degrees in Biology and Plant Biology at NC State before completing my PhD in Comparative Biomedical Sciences. My doctoral work on angiopellosis and the Cancer Exodus Hypothesis became the foundation for my later research in metastasis, RNA splicing, and cancer disparities at Duke.
I also worked at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, where I sharpened my science communication skills by bringing human biology, genetics, and ancestry into conversations with the public.
These experiences continue to shape how I work: make complex ideas understandable, invite better questions, and connect discovery with the lives it may eventually touch.

SCIENCE IS A HUMAN ENDEAVOR
In the lab, in a museum, or on stage, the goal is the same: help people see an idea in a new way.
